- Step 3Take the CE Quiz after viewing the entire course. After you have successfully passed the quiz, a Certificate of completion will be automatically downloaded to your computer for you to save. If you are an AIA member, your AIA CES Learning Units will automatically be submitted.

Project Delivery 1: An Overview
This first in a 5-part series is the culmination of a decade-long exploration into alternative methods of project delivery. This course starts with a video introduction by Don Rudy, AIA, AIACC Vice-President of Professional Practice, which provides an overview of various delivery methods available to public and private clients: Design-Bid-Build, Construction Management, Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery.
Referring to the rapid change in project delivery methods, Don Rudy states, "It is essential to understand the delivery options available and to be able to identify which delivery method best meets the goals, skill level and available resources for specific projects."
The course is accompanied by PDFs of 1) Detailed Course Material,, 2) a Matrix of Project Delivery, which provides an overview of the first three project delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, Construction Management, and Design-Build, and 3) a Project Delivery Glossary, which identifies terms often used when undertaking various delivery methods and sheds light on some new terms and often-confused terms that apply to all four project delivery methods.

This fifth in a 5-part series describes Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), a project delivery approach that integrates people, systems, business structures, and practices into a process that collaboratively harnesses the talents and insights of all participants to reduce waste and optimize efficiency through all phases of design, fabrication, and construction.
This course starts with a video introduction by Don Rudy, AIA, AIACC Vice-President of Professional Practice, who describes how this delivery method continues to evolve, how best to employ IPD, and an overview of the pros and cons of IPD.
The course is accompanied by 1) Detailed Course Material about the Integrated Project Delivery method, 2) white papers on "IPD Teams - Creation Organization & Management" and "Negotiating an IPD Agreement" and 3) Case Studies of projects utilizing IPD.
