In this 60-minute course, filmed live as part of the AIA California Council’s 2011 Monterey Design Conference, humanitarian architect Michael Maltzan, FAIA, discusses the concepts and motivations that shape an ongoing body of community-driven work. From his innovative public housing projects in Skid Row to his wonderfully imaginative towers in China, Maltzan’s array of design experiences nest themselves into a unified philosophy that wholly believes in architecture’s ability to affect significant positive change on our cities.

This course is presented in high definition video and is available on computers, smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices.
