Sustainability Practices (AIA New York, AIACC)
This 3-course series on Innovative Sustainable Practices covers the innovative use of materials, building systems, siting and technologies. The series begins with a succinct and practical overview on the strategies and tactics for designing net zero energy buildings, followed by more detailed examinations of design strategies to achieve grid-neutral energy performance , building commissioning as a quality control method and sustainable lighting design, specifically low-energy lighting strategies. The series also demonstrates through three case studies how the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) has created and implemented a holistic strategy for sustainability at the Bronx Zoo, and examines innovative approaches to sustainable, high density, affordable housing.
These courses are presented in high definition video and are available on computers and most smart phones, tablets and mobile devices. (Video streaming might not be available on some Android devices.)
